Better than nothing? - No, wearing nothing is better!

True religion. Whether you are religious or not, there isn't much "true" about it (as they say in metal jargon about authentic music!)

How can a fashion label deliver something so half-hearted? I bought a bottle of this low-budget mainstream fragrance out of desperation just before my Parfumo membership, and I just tested it again.

I'll start from the back:

^^^ 1. Bottle ^^^
I like used look. I've got everything from clothing to guitars to shoes in that style. So the bottle did catch my attention a bit. Although it’s so used that it really looks like a relic from the 40s, a bit shabby. It doesn't feel nice enough to want to hold the bottle with pleasure. John Varvatos has shown us much better with his fragrances Vintage, Artisan (Wicker Chair Style), or Dark Rebel (Leather Rocker Style)!

>>> 2. Scent >>>
Identity-less male-fresh cucumber-spice water. If I've learned one thing, it’s that you can make something good out of ANY scent note. I bet there is a good cucumber scent. Unfortunately, "True Religion Men" turned out to be a poorly made, one-dimensional pseudo-Davidoff knockoff diluted with cucumber.

I understand that it's uncool to be a jeans fashion label and not have a fragrance. But then take another sniff of Diesel's "Fuel for Life," dear True Religion creators: You can smell the lack of class there too, but at least it has some sex appeal!

vvv 3. Sillage and Longevity vvv
Both are present, but no one can tell you exactly how much and how long, as it tends to wash off before you can endure it for long.
Fragrances like this are the reason I sometimes had a hard time deciding which scent was my favorite in the local drugstore as a teenager: in this price range, you really need to know where to reach - and where not to.

Nowadays, I would actually rather wear nothing than make this trip to the toilet.

If anyone has a completely different opinion, I’m curious to hear the reasoning, as it is, after all, a matter of taste:

Some have it, others don’t.

Doesn't seem to have many fans, this scent... And yes, there is a great cucumber fragrance, a really good one: "The Soft Lawn" by Imaginary Authors. It's hard to find, but if you do, definitely give it a sniff!
