perfume or marinade?
Quince is a lovely-smelling fruit that we hardly ever see in the US, and I've long wanted to find a quince perfume. (Dr. Hauschka, a German company, has a gorgeous line of quince scented skincare products, but that's it.)
So I was very hopeful when I saw this scent. Unfortunately, whatever quince is in here is overpowered for most of a wearing. At different stages, I've gotten minty-citrus, sage-thyme (savory stuffing), and thyme-lime (marinade). Something quince-ish does come through after 3 hours or so. However, the fact that I have to spend 3 hours thinking of Jamaican rice and beans (cooked in coconut milk and thyme) and a Mexican-inspired tofu dish (marinated in lime juice) takes away the appeal for me.

Sorry that you don't like this fragrance, I think it's great, very energising, kind of "crisp" and spicy, I'm especially fond of the mint in it. I wear it a lot and always with delight!

Hmmm. I have had quince jelly & thought it was great. It's tart/sweet and a bit citrusy. I don't know how the Dr. Hauschka products capture it so well. Flavorite: lime, cilantro & stewed tomatoes is a lovely combo! :)

Have you ever eaten quince jelly? It is just sweet with a very indefinite fruity taste. I guess quince jelly was popular after WWII as long as not better jam was available. Somehow it makes sense to me that a quince perfume is also not very distinct.

Well, anyway, that is a delicious idea for a marinade. I'm going to try it tomorrow. LOL!
