Love amplitudes
The flacon gives the impression of a composition from the 70s. Why not take a voyage of discovery into the past? Although, I didn't land this fragrance entirely without any ideas, the review by @Minigolf aroused my curiosity, even more: it captivated me. Of course, these are always subjective impressions, but the fragrance had already hooked me before I knew it.
The first impression was: Scherrer 1! One of my 10 fragrances, one of my signatures, in which I find myself to a very large extent! Huuiiih - this is off to a good start! Here, liquid gold and liquid, dark green resin, enriched with deep green spices, flow into each other. And apart again. Bright, citrusy freshness swirls around these events, permeates them, makes them bubble. Yes, here light dances with dark, they fall in love with each other and let go of each other again - a wonderful analogy. This is how unconditional love works: letting yourself in completely, merging with each other and letting go again, finding yourself again.
I am already very richly endowed with this lesson that this fragrance teaches me. But the story is not yet finished.
At the beginning of the heart note, the citrusy (and perhaps aldehydic?) Britzelei calms down, and a first harbinger from the base, round sandalwood, prepares to give the golden-resinous liquid a place to settle down. But its dance continues. The sparkling infatuation now turns into growing trust in each other. And with this growing trust comes a level-headed serenity. A certainty that everything is fine the way it is. This impression is underpinned by tart floral accords and sweet grasses that invite the heart to rely on this trust, to bathe in it, to indulge in it, to love...
This phase of the heart shows great endurance. This allows the delicate little plant 'trust' to grow, flourish and stabilize in peace. And practise and enjoy the dance of spiritual love: 'letting in and letting go, merging and separating'.
Yes, this needs to be practised, because by nature we are equipped with a need for security that rarely allows us the wide amplitudes of these two poles and keeps them in the safe and less sensitive middle. "Just don't take any risks," it whispers to us. The refrain of the song 'Abenteuerland' by Pur comes to mind: "Come with me, come with me to the land of adventure, on your own journey. Come with me to adventure land, the entrance costs your mind."
Love is a great adventure, it pushes boundaries, especially those of the ego; it even wants to dissolve them. The ego with its intellectual thinking immediately sounds the alarm: "Danger to life!" Because it believes that if it loses control, its existence is at risk. The opposite is the case! Our life becomes deeper and richer if we allow it, this letting in, and do not forget this letting go of the loved one. To become ourselves again, with breathing boundaries. To then begin this dance of love anew as an intact whole.
Ah yes, the base - I digress... To stay with the image, the base builds the dance floor, grounds the lovers - at least that's what it looked like after the Sandel interlude in the HN.
But the solid dance floor is covered by a soft amber carpet. The lovers are still dancing, with, around and in each other, and are now carefully grounded. And with the maturity they have acquired in their ability to love, they are ready and able to occasionally turn the velvety-soft carpet into a flying carpet...
