Spicebomb Eau Fraiche Viktor & Rolf 2014

Very helpful Review
Very close to the original
My latest acquisition this month. Suitable for warmer temperatures, I ordered this flanker of the superstar Spicebomb. It has been on my note and wish list for quite some time, and now it has managed to assert itself. I'm surprised that this flanker gets so little attention. 2 comments and 3 statements, it doesn't seem to polarize much. Of course, one has to ask: Do you need such a flanker? I really like fresh flankers of heavier fragrances, like Frozen Cologne by La Nuit de L'Homme. Such fresh updates are really good.
Available in 90ml. Great bottle like the original. Some find this grenade tacky, but I love this bottle. In this version, it fits the freshness well. Here listed as Eau fraiche, it has been sold as Spicebomb fresh for some time. Name aside, it amounts to the same.
The scent is very, very close to the original. The world-famous Spicebomb DNA is present from the first to the last moment. This typical cinnamon DNA is clearly in the foreground, which doesn't set it apart much from the original. It doesn't have to, as the original has enough fans... rightly so. The difference is more in the background: there, citrus notes like fresh lemon and grapefruit come into play. The big freshness kick is missing, but these notes do make the scent noticeably fresher and lighter. Added to this are salty notes from sea salt and a slight fresh floral note. Similar to the original Spicebomb, there is little development, but it doesn't necessarily need to. Overall, a great creation for warmer days, in stark contrast to the original.
The performance is not like the rest of the family, but that applies to all fresh flankers. Here, the sillage is top in the first hours and still quite good later on and very close to the skin. The longevity should be between 6 and 8 hours. I haven't tested it precisely yet. But decent.
The big freshness kick is similarly missing as with LNDL Frozen Cologne, which is also difficult with heavy DNAs. Nevertheless, I find such flankers really good for daytime and for warmer days. Especially between temperatures of 10 to about 20/maximum 25 degrees, I find it very wearable, and you will make a good impression with it. A fragrance choice without much risk, as the DNA has already been very successful. The DNA may not be very unique anymore, but it still attracts often.
Anyone who likes the original Spicebomb or Spicebomb Extreme should definitely test this one. Very well done and deserves significantly more attention.
