Boudoir Jouy Edition Vivienne Westwood 2009

Boudoir Jouy is a classic case of "think again." If I had bought it, it would have been a bad purchase. As it is, it’s "only" a bad swap, but the lovely swap partner is not to blame; I really wanted to swap it "blind," as Mrs. Westwood can do no wrong in my eyes for a long time. I like all her fragrances, some even very much, and Anglomania has been one of my signature scents. But Boudoir Jouy, which I thought would be a daytime-appropriate version of Boudoir, where every spray promises concentrated eroticism, is not what I expected.
The top note is sweet-rosy, super floral, with a slight fresh, almost green mandarin touch.
The heart note is indeed more berry-fruity, but still too floral for my taste as a non-flower lover. Moreover, it seems that a very dominant part has been forgotten, omitted, or simply messed up: the heart note is sharp! And I don’t mean sharp in a sexual sense, but peppery!
The base is unremarkably cozy, one of many, nothing special.
Overall, the scent remains floral and peppery until the end. Longevity is okay.
But it’s no comparison to the fragrances I am used to from Mrs. Westwood.
Unnecessary flanker, beautiful bottle.

PS: I believe my predecessor commenter was referring to the classic Boudoir, because Jouy has as much sex appeal as a bowl of fruit salad.
