Powdery-floral modernized variant
Chanelle is right, the first comment can only refer to the original, it does not fit the Joy Edition. The concept of the original has been significantly changed. I also ordered it blind, whenever variations of classics hit the market, it always triggers a buying urge in me. I find it interesting what one (the perfumer) does with an already existing concept, and the variant has indeed brought something new, which I also find positive.
Since I did not expect the original, I am not disappointed. I was just surprised because I had read the first comment beforehand; the second one was not yet available.
The concentration is not as strong as the original, perhaps it is also because the aldehydes have been omitted. Since I don't really like aldehydes, I am not sad about it. The blend is completely different, the scent of skin is completely absent. The powderiness has been maintained from beginning to end. The fragrance does not come across as very floral to me; I am also not a fan of floral scents, just as little as I am of fruits, so I do wonder about myself that I bought a scent with red berries.
After spraying, I briefly pick up the green notes of bamboo and the slight bitterness of the mandarin, followed immediately by the red berries. But the heart note is already shining through, the powdery iris root envelops the berries, they are like wrapped in cotton and thus do not become too sweet. Fortunately, jasmine does not provide a sweet softness; one would expect that more from peonies, but I do not perceive it.
Amber and wood carry the notes, after about an hour the scent has developed on the skin and lasts a long time.
It is a lighter Eau de Parfum and thus adapted to the current taste, so one can spray generously, but one must not be deceived. After spraying, the scent is still very light; it takes its time to develop, but then it becomes a floral-sensual blend, no longer a loud fragrance, due to the complete overhaul, but still always present. Beautifully changed and true to the powderiness.
"I smell good" is something I also heard when wearing it for the first time.
