An adult fragrance

"Libertine" and I - it was love at first sniff!
Actually, I went to the perfumery in the summer of 2003 to buy translucent powder, but I got a sample of "Libertine" and left with the largest bottle available. (Something I never do when I buy a fragrance for the first time.)
The opening already thrilled me - fruity, without being sticky sweet.
Soon the heart note came into play, and I primarily detected lily of the valley, a hint of rose, and something spicy, slightly bitter.
By the time the base note appeared, I was completely captivated - earthy, warm, sensual, adult.

The sillage is just right, noticeable but not overwhelming.

The longevity is unmatched. Even after a whole day or a night of dancing, the fragrance is still perceptible on my skin. On scarves or sweater collars, it lasts until the next wash.

Conclusion: "Libertine" is anything but ordinary and not a fragrance for little girls. It is adult, seductive, and elegant.

When the scent was released, I tested it because I really like "Boudoir"; but back then, I didn't like it. Now that I've also enjoyed other Vivienne Westwood fragrances, I got it for myself (at a decent price, phew!) and I find it really lovely!
