7Scent 7.5Longevity

Classic Chypre

I came to "Libertine" through a trade. Contrary to my usual habits, I boldly traded "blind," meaning without knowing how the fragrance smells (either I had never sniffed it or I no longer remembered its scent) - so only based on the listed notes (which appealed to me). I expected a Chypre fragrance and I got one ...
But let's start from the beginning: Upon the first spray, I was slightly shocked - this is not my thing, I thought. It had a hint of hamster cage (you know what I mean ...). After a longer test of patience, however, the fragrance developed wonderfully. A Chypre as it should be, and one that I only know from older classics like "Fendi," "Paloma Picasso," "Armani," and the like. "Yvresse," formerly "Champagne," is a similarly structured scent due to its certain fruitiness. Speaking of fruit - I strangely only smell pineapple and grapefruit in the heart, even though they are listed as top notes.
"Libertine" surprises in the end with its base, which feels fine and elegant. It is more of a "mature" scent, not for teenagers and/or trendsetters. The longevity is good.
I have not regretted the trade at all, rather the opposite. It's nice that I discovered an interesting and unexpectedly classically appealing fragrance by chance, so to speak.

Hamster cage :-))) Sounds interesting, and I could get it cheap just around the corner... considering its rarity, it's worth the risk to go for it, right?

I don't know that one yet, but it sounds good. I find blind swapping/buying kind of exciting. I always thought it had a leather note... :/
