Dark but Heartwarming!

Yapana (2013) by Volnay was a gift from a dear perfumer. Thanks again for that.
I had never heard of this brand, and the fragrance doesn’t seem particularly well-known here. That needs to change quickly... because I was already blown away by this beautiful scent with the first spray.

Whispers of the night... darkness enveloping me, ... the leather of his jacket warms ... his scent mingles with mine. Shooting stars in the night sky ... racing pulse ... burning kisses on soft skin! An embrace as necessary as air to breathe ... heartwarming!
A fireworks display of emotions ;)

About the scent:
Yapana opens with a fresh-spicy bergamot and slightly bitter grapefruit. I perceive rose, powdery and resinous notes combined with a fine clove throughout the fragrance development. The vanilla is subtly detectable and adds a minimal sweetness to the scent progression.
Helional is said to be a fragrance compound that smells like hay and should have an ozonic effect. Hmm... I don’t perceive either hay or anything ozonic. But I experience Yapana at this stage as a deep, resinous-spicy rose scent surrounded by powder.
With benzoin, labdanum, and patchouli, it moves into the base. Resinous-balsamic-spicy, the scent gives me the impression of leather.
The drydown is fascinating and beautiful... dark, yet also warming. There’s always a hint of powder that is likely enhanced by the iris in the base. Nothing here is musty ;)
I can’t directly recognize green vanilla, and golden stone is probably more of a golden sheen ;)
I think I detect a hint of musk in the scent's conclusion, which is not listed in the pyramid.
In any case, Yapana is a fascinating fragrance that comes across as very multifaceted.
The longevity is a good 8 hours... the sillage is moderate.... a mysterious scent aura surrounds me.
For me, it’s a scent for the night and definitely too heavy and dark for summer.
The bottle... hmm... I don’t really like it because it somehow doesn’t match the fragrance with its embellishments.... a dark bottle would have been more fitting.
Conclusion:
Wow... resinous-balsamic-spicy scent... powdery on the skin. Here, leather doesn’t bother me. I’m blown away! Dark but heartwarming!
It’s quite an expensive little treasure... but I recommend giving it a test.
If anyone knows where to order this fragrance, I would be very grateful for the information. I only found it on the brand's website.

When I wore it at the office today, a breeze would occasionally waft over to my colleague, and she asked who had sprinkled pepper around. She has a fine nose. It turned out it was my sillage that kept wafting to her. But the scent is lovely. It could also suit the male colleagues.

He must have captured you pretty quickly. He doesn't sound uninteresting either ;) Thanks for sharing another comment about a lesser-known fragrance with us ;)

You can only reach the golden stone if you drink the Bembel in one go.

Since I tested it from a freshly purchased sample set, the pyramid has been changed here. I found it dull, dry, lacking any sweetness-just a classic chypre. I usually don't get along well with those.

Sounds great! Even though leather is still on my "I don't like" list (for now), I'd love to be convinced :D. After all, Cuir Beluga won my heart, despite having leather in the name. So if you're doing a sharing *wink with the fence*... why not just order directly from Volnay in France? Otherwise, you'll also find it at ParfuMaria.

And once again, a fragrance has stolen your heart, smile - "falling in love is very, very easy...". The brand isn't exactly unknown, but as I just discovered with surprise, it's no longer listed at ALzD, which probably caused some sourcing issues. And it's not exactly cheap either...
