The Certain Something

The opening of "Satin Doll" is immediately resinous-smoky, not very peppery, but woody, slightly spicy.
The flowers are dominated by tuberose and jasmine. But despite the wood and slight smokiness, it is a mild creamy floral blend that always remains somewhat in the background. The myrrh with the mossy bitterness gives "Satin Doll" a distinctly bitter and medicinal note. Somewhere, I also occasionally smell sandalwood. There is initially a difference whether I sniff "Satin Doll" closely on the skin or from 40 cm away. Directly on the skin, it is a non-sweet, wood-resinous, and medicinal scent with a restrained floral blend. Frankincense is only present for me as a light smoky note at the opening.
At 40 cm away and in the room, "Satin Doll" is a transparent light floral scent, balsamic-resinous with bitter woody notes. Over time, the floral blend also becomes lighter on the skin. And now I think I also perceive slight citrus nuances. A harmonious bright scent develops, pleasant and in a subtly brittle way very attractive. This fragrance creation is unique to me despite the otherwise well-known ingredients.
A scent for everyday life, for ordinary situations and events, for normal living. A subtle feminine fragrance with a restrained yet distinct sillage.

That sounds really nice. Based on the pyramid, it wouldn't have appealed to me at all. Thank you! :-)

I can only agree with you and Odeur23. The tuberose is also quite subtle for me. Otherwise, Satin Doll wouldn't have made it onto my wishlist ;-).

Well put, especially your last sentence ;O) The tuberose is the only note that stays quite subtle for me...thank goodness.
