... is what this plant is called in the vernacular
Honeysuckle, the name and main fragrance contributor of this scent, is a
native climbing vine that winds its way up fences
and walls, clinging and climbing
In Bach flower therapy, the plant is also used
(Honeysuckle No. 16) for people who cannot let go of the past,
who lack interest in the present, and have a nostalgic outlook on life.
I find this association very fitting
Chevrefeuille is a nostalgic fragrance, smelling of carefree childhood;
summer afternoons in the woods and by the river,
a wonderful fresh scent; honeysuckle and jasmine very fresh
and green through the citrus accords
the fragrance is lush without being overwhelming and feels very refreshing
and invigorating to me
the longevity is, as with all old YR fragrances, fantastic and the sillage
not too dominant, perfect for warm spring and summer days.
Have I mentioned in any of my comments already
that I have a bone to pick with good old Uncle Yves?
In this case, I also find it extremely unfortunate that this fragrance is no longer available
the newer version smells very similar but is still not comparable.
Yes, the old ones from YR are really the best! Diamella, Ispahan, Clea, Magnolia, Avril en soir... there’s nothing as distinctive as that anymore (at YR)! Maybe I should consider a Bach flower therapy with honeysuckle too ;-)
