First of all: I find the greenish bottle of Homme Natural absolutely appealing. It’s somehow a mix of a paddle wheel and a leaf, and it comes quite close to the intended philosophy.
The scent indeed comes across as very green. Unfortunately, it’s less with the desired forest aroma of spruce, fir, pine, birch, or a woody note - but rather sourly cucumber-fresh with a bit of generic spice.
It’s a shame, really, because they could have definitely done more with the theme. For me, the cucumber is unfortunately a bit omnipresent, but luckily it’s still toned down enough that it doesn’t pinch my nose, which many scents of this kind do to my dismay.
It is true that the scent doesn’t knock anyone off their feet - however, one must also consider the price-performance ratio, which is by no means lacking. Additionally, one should be aware that Yves Rocher avoids artificial ingredients. In this regard, there is conditional green light for this somewhat breathless natural guy.
I don't even believe that Creed uses that many natural essences... ;-)
And "gurkig" is always synthetic :-D
Or is Wall Street natural?! lol
(Bond is just total garbage...)
By the way, the new perfumes really have significantly less chemicals than the "regular" ones from Douggie & Co. The old ones, like Cléa, were just as full of chemicals. Overall, though, there's relatively little chemistry in cosmetics. For me...
My husband tested it once. It didn't smell like cucumber, more like leaves, fresh and green, very woody-green overall. Just like nature... I liked it quite a bit.
Well written! BUT unfortunately, it's a pure marketing myth that Yves Rocher is "green," but it seems their efforts have at least made you believe it. ;) In perfumes, just like in cosmetics, there's plenty of artificial stuff.
