Scentwise, this flanker has nothing to do with the original Kouros, but I really like the smell, a lovely sweetish oriental licorice with hints of menthol. Kind of gourmandish, but not overly sweet.
It's not surprising that the nose behind this is Annick Menardo, as there are quite some similarities to her creation of Lempicka au Masculin as well. The mix of anise, cinnamon and creamy eucalyptus actually blend together quite well and end out in a drydown of amber, musk and benzoin oil that's quite nice.
I'm surprised to see other people mentioning it as a strong fragrance, as the projection of my 2011 bottle was quite weak - unless I oversprayed with 6-8 sprays, after about two hours it had turned into a skin scent that even I could hardly smell. The sprayer is also really bad IMO, no mist but just a single direct shot which then dribbles down your skin.
Strange thing is, quite a few of my female friends and colleagues have commented on this scent and how great it is.... weird stuff really.
