Turn up the volume

When we tested this fragrance, my friend and I were reminded of an old classic by Karl Lagerfeld, good old "ChloƩ" from the 1970's. Something about the lush flowery bouquet with its accent on tuberose points into this direction. For the first 30 min, we thought this would be a winner, a modern retro-scent with strong sillage and a powerful message. But gradually, loads of artificial patchouli, ambroxan and other aromachemicals take the lead and the drydown is done in the style of all the latest YSL-offerings (think "Black Opium" or "Manifesto"). The only difference is the concentration. I can still smell the scent on my scarf after two weeks. At the price of approx. 170 Euros, I would have thought that originality would be more important than sheer volume. But I was wrong again.
