Hard to believe, but among all the Night, Nuit, Black, Dark, and Intense fragrances, a Sport perfume has made its way back! Surprising, since the boom of dynamic representatives was already two years ago and has noticeably faded...!
However, since there is already an "intense" counterpart with L'Homme Parfum Intense, L'Homme Sport has long been overdue! I now adapt "L'Homme" to "L'ooooongweilig"! With "Sport," this is already the 11th offshoot - practically a whole football team! More shouldn't come, aside from further unnecessary Eau d'été's...the cash cow is, in my eyes, really milked dry, and it's time for something completely new (see, for example, L'Homme Idéal by Guerlain)!
Nevertheless - the bottle - still always stylish and masculine. But no longer as high-quality as it once was. Connoisseurs know that the massive metal cap has unfortunately had to give way to cheap plastic! The spray tube is kept in typical "Sport" red. The face, always - unlike the flankers - is the French actor Oliver Martinez! This time sleek on a motorcycle and in a black trench coat!
As for the scent - the opening impresses with a lovely shiny bergamot. It gently settles in the nose. A mild, slightly sweet citrus aroma makes me think of Dior Homme Sport and The One Sport by Dolce & Gabbana. In my opinion, the direct scent twin is the new Boss Bottled Unlimited. The classic L'Homme Original, on the other hand, comes across as really distinctive and angular!
As it develops, floral, spicy notes (cardamom) already signal the fading of the scent! After half an hour, the fragrance retreats more and more - I can no longer perceive it after two hours! Disillusionment sets in! The drydown is a generic mix of dry, woody nuances. Absolutely monotonous and interchangeable - present in a thousand other men's drugstore fragrances!
L'Homme Sport doesn't offend, but it also doesn't stay in memory! It lacks depth, character, and flair! I also miss the typical L'Homme lemon note that runs through the entire progression. The longevity with sufficient dosage is about 6-7 hours...most of the time, however, the dull base takes over! Sillage is virtually zero...
In summary, L'Homme forms the crowning "L'ooongeweile" conclusion of the series! What started cheerfully and interestingly ended in bitter disappointment - no matter how relaxed, cool, and casual Monsieur Martinez cruises around on his scooter....
