The topic is not new: anyone who already has a successful fragrance "on the market" and launches further flankers more or less profitably inevitably wants to bring out a sport variant as well.
Of course, this is legitimate and tempting from a short-term economic perspective, but it could dilute the brand in the long run. With all the flankers of L'Homme, hardly anyone can keep track anymore, so the sport variant doesn't really matter anymore.
At least L'Homme Sport comes just as one would imagine: classic with a high citrus content, somewhat pleasantly bitter at the beginning, then a bit sweeter later on. If you dive in a bit too deeply, its artificiality is revealed, which can be forgiven due to some fresh and well-balanced light spicy notes. Besides aldehydes and bergamot, the individual components are difficult to identify.
It feels like 2/3 of all shower gels that can be perceived between the shower stalls of typical fitness studios or swimming pools smell similar.
This is somewhat acceptable, but from YSL, I would expect more than just a red stripe and an average shower scent in the bottle from a quality sport flanker of the L'Homme series. Back then, the label was considered quite innovative olfactorily. It seems they have moved away from that, as here they prefer to extract a lot from the umpteenth flanker with little effort and investment. One could also see it as sporty, but it is not!
