You rock me, baby! ... What I definitely didn't expect!

As a guitarist and rock fan, I naturally couldn't resist wanting to get a whiff of a fragrance with this name as soon as possible. However, it took a bit longer because, as a copywriter, I don't easily fall for lofty marketing promises and tend to be particularly critical! ;-) Besides, I already own "This Is Him" and am indeed a fan of this scent, which I like to wear when going out in the cold season. Moreover, it is claimed on the comment page that if you have "This Is Him," you don't need "Just Rock" as well. Admittedly, both EDPs are very similar, but "This Is Him" is citrusy at the start and has a distinctly biting, sharp pepper note that has made me sneeze a few times. Either way, the bottle also suggests that "Just Rock" is likely a flanker, even though it is named completely differently.

Now, one would assume that "Just Rock" is the rougher and more unrefined scent compared to "This Is Him." However, that is not the case at all (greetings to marketing); on the contrary: "Just Rock" clearly has the same DNA but comes across as more balanced and harmonious in comparison. A bit softer, making "Just Rock" a true evening go-to for me. If I had to assign the two scent pyramids to one of their relatives, I would instinctively swap them. This shows once again how little such a "description" may say about a fragrance itself or how little I know about what each mixture is capable of olfactorily! ;-)

Additionally, "Just Rock" reminds me a bit (!) of my highest-rated "Gucci Envy," so from now on, I am indeed a (Just)Rock fan. Nevertheless, I don't necessarily associate the scent with a loud concert hall; I would wear it there just as much as on a first date. A light freshness kick at the beginning, then quite spicy, pretty smoky, and including a lasting residual sweetness that you can still perceive the next day. Luckily for me, it is leather- and flower-free and overall harmonious - just the way I like it, my baby! :-)

Thanks for your comment. It convinced me to buy 100ml of this fragrance. Especially the mention of its similarity to Gucci's Envy, which unfortunately was stolen from me during a break-in about 15 years ago, along with my entire collection at the time. I also notice a slight resemblance to Gaultier's Le Male. Overall, it's a very successful blend of scents.

Interesting take! I actually find "just rock" much rougher, louder, and less cozy than "This is Him," but that's just how our noses differ ;). Anyway, I enjoy wearing both.

Great comment! Spot on. I like both and they’re just slightly different-exactly what you’re saying is the small difference!
