This Is Him! Zadig & Voltaire 2016

Now I must and want to write my first comment, and this is not about a top 10 designer or a niche fragrance... yet this scent has completely captivated me, and as mentioned in the title, I wasn't really convinced at first.

It all started in the office in autumn/winter 2019 when a colleague, who often has great and new fragrances, wore this scent for the first time.
I walk into the office and immediately smell something new in the air... I go to him and ask directly: "What fragrance is that?"... Zadig & Voltaire... he says... mmmmh ok. It is quite sweet, and I usually don't like overly sweet fragrances, but this one is really interesting.
So, after work, I head straight to the city, to the perfumery... There it is, I spray it on the paper strip and smell - mmmmh somehow not so cool. Too bad - I leave it there and go again :-(

Next day in the office - I smell the same fragrance in the elevator and again I really like it in the air... It was that particular colleague again. Damn, I think to myself... back to the perfumery and this time directly on the skin and off home. I let my wife sniff it, then I sniff it again... She doesn't really like it that much, and I still don't like it enough to want to buy it.

Then I pushed the scent out of my mind for a while. A few weeks later, back in the office. I'm standing in the kitchen and notice a scent that is again extremely flattering to my nose - Who is in the kitchen with me → exactly, that particular colleague and yes, he was wearing "This is him" again... my goodness, I think to myself - I'm just going to order it now!

What can I say, it has become one of my favorites! It smells unique, cozy, masculine, and is a great all-rounder, except when it's high summer.
What excites me the most is the absolutely great performance. It is one of the very few designer fragrances that really lasts long on me and also has a wonderful sillage. I can smell the vanilla and the incense all day, especially on my clothes.
For the price, it's a "MUST HAVE" in my eyes! I think that in the current designer fragrance world, there are hardly any scents that have decent performance unless they are overly sweet and too youthful, which I don't really celebrate.

One is always on the lookout for little fragrance treasures that impress sustainably, and with "This is him," that is the case for me - even if it took a little while ;)
