Reflection Man meets PDM Pegasus or is it "Reflection Man Winter Edition"?
I must admit that Reflection Man is my all-time favorite perfume and I have gone through several bottles after 10 years of acquaintance. When I accidentally found out that Zara has a "dupe," or a perfume that is at least similar, I had to try it, even though I'm not a fan of dupes. I actually had absolutely no expectations and for €18 I thought it was fine to possibly be disappointed, so I bought the scent blind.
Then came the first spray. Smelling too close to the skin, it has a medicinal scent, something cough syrup-like... if you hold your nose at a normal smelling distance, a surprisingly pleasant fragrance for the price emerges, which I really did not expect. I perceive a vanilla that has a slightly metallic quality. At this stage, it is indeed somewhat similar to "Parfums de Marly Pegasus." It doesn't take long for the perfume in the drydown to show a remarkable similarity to Reflection Man. This dry, woody, floral powderiness is absolutely recognizable here. Just add a dose of vanilla and you get this scent.
Of course, they are not confusingly similar. Comparing an €18 scent to a 20x more expensive fragrance is, in my opinion, not valid. The differences in quality are too great here. However, if someone wants a Reflection Man Winter Edition that doesn't hurt the wallet, they can't go wrong with this scent!
Sillage and longevity are absolutely fabulous for the price range. My Le Male Le Parfum lasts shorter.
