Zara is going GREAT

Alright, after my dissatisfaction with the Vanilla collection (It was actually great, but 01 was not my type of scent and 02 was too sweet) this was my next stop. Wood collection, is pretty great and worth your money. The scent opens somewhat screech with bergamot but than spices show up. I clearly detect ginger, pepper and cinnamon but I do not know about cloves and others, I might need to put this in my wardrobe for a few months to truly understand it. After the spice loses it’s power, a strong vetiver alongside the smoky incense shines, also a mild violet note. If you are not experienced with the note; it could be hard to detect. This phase is bolder, woodier and has your “basement” type of woody scent in it. It is not a clone or anything, but something here reminds me of the Gucci Pour Homme I and the later 2008 Gucci Pour Homme DNA’s. Probably because of the incense-woods combo. Towards to the last hours, you can also sense the pines mixed with earthiness (pine note is also detectable on the opening with bergamot, but I find it to be more explicit on the base). It is a winter-fall leaning scent in my opinion and has relatively good performance for Zara fragrances. Lasts more than 6 hours and detectable during it’s first hours. Not overwhelming, so you can pretty much go anywhere with this on cold weather. What are the bad points? It is not as nuanced as you would expect from similar scents, and opening is especially synthetic but they are both not great cons for me. For a fan of woody scents, the bundle is a great deal: you get one bold, smoky scent and one powdery, soft scent. You can pull the trigger.
