Stylish Quiet Achiever
So here it was.. The moment I purchased my first fragrance from Zara. It was a hot, humid day at 32 degrees Celsius on Börsenstraße, Frankfurt am Main. Not exactly the best conditions for a dry scent that contains woods and leather.
I didn't know what to expect. How can a fragrance priced at 10€/100ml impress? How much synthetic material is in it?
Scent#1 starts off greenish and woody. After the first hour, a very stylish leathery musk emerges, which lasts for a good 5-6 hours. The sillage remains unchanged. It is very close to the skin, which in my opinion makes it ideal for a fall fragrance for initially cold office days. Synthetic? Maybe a little. What prevails here is a beautiful, dry cardamom-leather scent with subtle woods. Hence the similarity to the sandalwood model Santal33.
The bottle is simple yet beautiful and its coloring is perfect for autumn.
So what remains of my expectation? Zara can offer affordable, high-quality fragrances in simple bottles! The longevity is decent at 7-8 hours and the sillage can be adjusted as desired by re-spraying. At this price, you’re happy to reapply, because Scent#1 is a feel-good fragrance.
