Finely Carved and Turned

This beautiful, quiet, somewhat melancholic fragrance has something of a turned wooden chest of drawers with finely carved inlays. A bit "old-fashioned," but in a good way. Light wood with darker "inlays," sanded and left in its natural, unvarnished state.
In the drawers, leather gloves and spices next to poetry albums with dried violet flowers pressed between the pages. Years have passed since they received their last entry.
"May your heart be good, your thoughts wise. Always have courage, determined, but quiet. Walk your path, seldom look back, for in the MOMENT you will find happiness.
Your school friend Ingeborg, March 17, 1960"
So or something similar, as was customary back then. And this quiet, pleasantly permeating "wistfulness" resonates in this fragrance just as much as the "simplicity" of earlier life. Without the huge, overflowing abundance like today, which may confuse rather than satisfy.
The fragrance itself is also kept simple. No olfactory waves that overwhelm the senses. Rather a still life, "woods, spices, leather pieces, and a small box of violet powder" beautifully arranged and drawn in pastel colors, which I found in the turned chest of drawers.....

Oh yes - very beautifully described! Somehow, I've "grown away" from this one and its big brother over the course of my first year on Parfumo, but your comment shows that it still has a simple, clear beauty.

That's a lovely story; it really highlights the rather simple beauty of this fragrance!
Thank you!
