Wrong Name!
Creed Royal Oud Clone? No, definitely not! Hints of Comme des Garcons Black Pepper? No, not that either! No sneezing fits here, as the name unfortunately does not fit. So, what does Black Pepper & Cedarwood actually smell like?
Good question… first of all, I would categorize this fragrance under "quite green," as the opening starts off slightly lemongrass - cinnamon with a distant light wood touch. After a relatively short time, the lemongrassy note almost completely recedes, leaving behind a hint of indefinable medley that partially reminds me of citrus-infused pea soup.
That must have been a strange cedar… try as I might, I cannot identify any cedar wood here, as one would expect. The rose also only appears in the far background, where it struggles to survive.
Fortunately, the ordeal is relatively short-lived due to the lack of longevity and sillage, and I am spared the need to wash it off! Why this fragrance was named as such remains a mystery to me, but I don't want to solve it either!
