You described it beautifully.
Bittersweet really fits, now that you mention it.

Thank you. It's so difficult to describe scents. It's always just an attempt... :-)

Yes, they come from the Puig factory, where Penhaligon's and Nina Ricci are also made... so you can really save money with Zara fragrances.

Thanks for the info. I find the Zara fragrances a bit overwhelming and haven't tried many so far.

... a not gourmand, barely sweet, apparently well-made and affordable fragrance - that really makes me curious now! 😉 -

… and I'm currently struggling with my Seta from Moresque because of the sweetness, which doesn't seem to affect others that way 😄 …

Iris is considered a Libre dupe. I don't know Libre. 'Barely sweet' is relative since I really like sweet fragrances. It is sweet, but it's a dark sweetness that doesn't smell very youthful.

I'm testing it right now, it's quite pretty, but for me, it's a bit too sweet :o)

Coming from the sharp freshness, this one is definitely sweet.
I have much sweeter fragrances...

If the scent reminds you of Hypnotic Poison, it can't be bad!

That definitely sounds worth testing. Because it's hardly sweet.

Yes, "sweet" is always a tricky thing. It's all relative. I really love very sweet scents...

If it takes Libre Intense as a model, it seems to be missing the lavender notes here.

I love lavender; however, I didn't notice any.

Isn't it supposed to be inspired by Libre Intense?

Yes, you can read that here. But I don't know either of the Libres.
The similarity seems to be confirmed by statements.

With the first spray, I was reminded of Vintage Hypnotic Poison. It's the almonds that do it. I find Hypnotic Poison more seductive and appealing.
