Hmm, for my nose, immortelle isn't the dominant note here (I usually perceive immortelle as either a leather note, a curry note, or apricot 😅) - it really smells very herbaceous and spicy to me (only briefly at the start are faint floral notes and a hint of blackcurrant noticeable, but it quickly turns quite bitter, especially on my skin) like crushed, dried herbs, not sweet hay, but really dull, wild brush by the roadside. More like a bit of horse mint or poleo mint, and maybe tarragon, something sharp like that. Somehow ethereal, but without sweetness or amber tones. I probably also perceive the seaweed quite strongly, which pulls the whole scent more into a cool, masculine direction.
By the way, it smells much more floral and fruity on paper than on my skin. On my skin, I immediately notice the base (synthetic) and the bitter notes, while on paper, the ylang lingers a bit longer 😉
I also prefer the North, but I've hiked in the Mediterranean during autumn/spring many times. For example, last year in October, in the late afternoon, it was stormy, I was sweaty, scratched up from the brush, on Sardinia - it gave me exactly that scent at times.
It's definitely interesting. Overall, it's a bit too strong for me, even though I usually like strong scents. In my opinion, it's more on the masculine side.
No, it absolutely doesn't. I don't find it salty or aquatic at all. The only note of seaweed is there, reminding me of the ocean - a bit musty in a way, but fresh. For me, it leans very masculine (like most of the brand).
Yes, it has its own character, but that's what makes it special. The blackcurrant is a bit dried out, and I can barely smell the flowers - but everything is absolutely not sweet, with a lot of moss and grass, and then that slightly musty seaweed - I think it's well done. It just doesn't quite suit me, though; that's not really me 😉
I find it beautiful and also special. I can hardly perceive the flowers, but I definitely notice the spicy, crisp air of the Macxie, along with the slightly muted, somewhat musty impression of algae. It’s not 100 percent my thing on my skin in this combination, but I still really like it. I'm sitting on my backpack right by the overgrown, thorny hiking path; I had to stomp down some dusty blades of grass to make room. It’s a hot, stormy summer afternoon, and the sky is heavily overcast. I'm not far from the Mediterranean, and it hasn’t rained in weeks. You can really feel the charge in the air. All the herbs are releasing concentrated doses of bitter green, ethereal oils to attract the last bees before the storm. Then the wind comes, bringing with it the algae-scented air from the nearby harbor. And it starts to drizzle. That’s my picture.
Well described. ↕
