You described it wonderfully again - also below. ⬇ 🙏
Truly a beautiful high-summer oriental cologne. I've only detected indolic and animalic notes in a homeopathic dose so far. 🤷♂️
A very sparkling-fresh, sexy-sultry, and rather feminine scent for me.
Oh @SebastianM, I don’t "boot" anyone "out" ever. 😊 I personally enjoy wearing "more feminine" scents or even bold men’s fragrances, just whatever I feel like.
At first, I was a bit skeptical - but now I really like the scent.
Jasmine is subtle, but not inconspicuous.
In the cold, the citrusy, juicy gazelle doesn't work as well on me. It definitely needs sunshine. 🙂
When I first read "Wildlederleiber," I misread it as "Wildererleber" - it threw me off at first. But I actually prefer leather bodies over livers, especially if they're as wearable as you say.
@TheBladi11 Great, thank you for the detailed information! Many high-quality oud fragrances / attars are too expensive for me, so I was really pleasantly surprised when I checked out the website.
@Andin, the brand evolution: Dixit & Zak -> Ahomworld -> Zakir Gafur.
The change to Ahomworld came about due to Dixit (Zakir's partner) leaving the fragrance business and a larger (unnamed) investor from the UAE stepping in at the same time. Recently, this investor exited again, and the house's name has now been officially changed to Zakir Gafur. Some fragrances that were released under Ahomworld are still part of Zakir Gafur's collection, as long as there are still bottles in stock.
Cheers! :)
By the way, I don't know of any house that offers such value for money - really impressive.
The raw materials used are all of exceptional quality.
@Seejungfrau Just took a look at the website, it's actually still affordable. Do you know why some fragrances are listed here under his name as a brand (like Primal Leather, Del Sol), while others are under Ahom World (EoG, Tropical Musk)?
Liver would be disgusting. 😆
EoG is very, very wearable.
Subtle, citrusy eroticism like only Zakir Gafur can achieve. Definitely worth exploring the brand.
I can relate to many of the associations very well.
I'm also really curious about how it wears in over 30°C... and as mentioned elsewhere, all of his fragrances actually have aging potential.
“Pheromonal brooding” 🥲 really hits the mark!
And the “hint of dung” is so typical of Indian oud - but never too much... beautifully blended with the other base notes - Interestingly, jasmine comes off quite dirty for me (which I actually like, even in Mallos BD, although that’s still my favorite jasmine scent of all time).
I find Rising Cologne & EoG comparable, especially the top notes, but after that they do differ quite a bit, especially in the base - I wouldn’t want to miss either... 🙏
The brand is evolving quite a bit; I’m most interested in Primal Leather... two more are already ordered! 😆
@Seejungfrau@TheBladi11@ElAttarine I also think that "brooding pheromonally" really captures it. The day before yesterday it was 30 °C, and by the end of the day, it definitely has a bit of that intimate area vibe. The fact that it still comes off as stylish is quite an art.
I was too stingy to place an order, there was a sharing - unfortunately it got canceled - I would start another one (order right when it opens) but I'm unsure if I could sell 20-30ml of it...
What do you all think @TheBasti, @Chizza, @Schulle357, @Weakside?
Is there still interest?
You've already made the scent sound appealing with your statement, @TheBladi11.
I ordered it right away.
Primal must be fantastic. I was too stingy, unfortunately.
But Shogun is on its way soon.
The great thing about Ahom/Gafur is that the scents are VERY wearable because they have a unique transparency. It’s exciting!
So it's actually better than I thought based on the first impression?! Very nice! Zak blends citrus incredibly well. It truly has no equal in the Artisan spectrum!!!
Sounds incredibly exciting again! (By the way: your notes are always so detailed 🌹 I’d probably only catch a fraction of all that, and I definitely couldn’t put it into words...)
Great statement! By the way, I didn't think of suede. But I find structural and scent similarities to Hepster by Neuffer: both have old-fashioned traits (Hepster leans more towards fougère, EoG towards men's cologne), with extraordinarily beautiful citrus peel notes and lavender, floral hearts (one has geranium and O-flower, the other rose and jasmine), on cedar and sandalwood and incense, with animalic notes (here from hyrax, there from oud). - Of course, the scents are quite different: Hepster is woodier, waxier, resinous, denser, and sweeter. Additionally, Hepster doesn't have any noticeable musk for me, is not nearly as animalic, not as fresh, not as woody, and not as suitable for warm weather as EoG. Thanks again for the sample!
Thank you very much @SebastianM I don't remember Hepster that well anymore. Annette's fragrances have a unique, rich signature. I don't find the vintage parallels that far-fetched. Here: more animalic/transparent. I noted leather during the first test. I also think that Eyes of Gazal is more summery, as I mentioned in the addendum. And yes - it is a very special cologne that has brought me a lot of joy over the past few days.
It looks like the comment consists only of emojis and doesn't contain any text to translate. If you have any other text or comments you'd like me to translate, feel free to share!
It took me a while to appreciate Eyes of Gazal.
Currently: 80% (on the rise)
Opening: cool, citrusy, juicy.
(Resembles Rising Cologne/Yellow Lemon Tree.)
The combination of floral white blooms, musk, bitter-sweet citrus notes, sandalwood, and soft indolic leather notes is perfect for hot temperatures.
I’m looking forward to enjoying Ghazal's full glory at 30°+.
So, these "dirty" musk layers in the underbrush will probably be quite pheromonal. 😁 Despite the citrusy/Oud-y/musk-y vibe, EoG primarily radiates a unique/aesthetic/elegant aura.
I don’t see it as a winter cologne, as mentioned by Ahom.
(I noticed it too, phew.....)
The journey through Zakir's world continues.

The prices are really reasonable.

In the sunshine, this wonderfully balanced scent comes across very sensually.

Now I wouldn't want to give up **Eyes of Gazal** for anything. 😊
It would depend on how strong the flowers & animals are on me...
(By the way: your notes are always so detailed 🌹 I’d probably only catch a fraction of all that, and I definitely couldn’t put it into words...)
I try my best, but it usually takes me a few days to decipher a fragrance.
Your notes hit the mark as well.
