The scent unexpectedly transports me back to the midnight line outside the Gothic club. Waiting in the cool night air, anticipation, shivering: the roses here are cold, absolutely unsweet, and sharply defined with a lot of saffron. Something about it also reminds me of very dry red wine. Once you step through the door, you descend into a world of bass, movement, and darkness that wipes everything outside away. Dark leather dominates almost brutally, initially cool, smoky, and sweaty. The leather, the location, everything is not pure but a bit soiled. Then, as if clothes are being shed piece by piece, the rose, the sweat, the cold disappear. Towards the (hours-long) base, the leather becomes warmer, softer, and melts into dark, resinous, tobacco-spiced animalic notes that invite you to snuggle against a bare male chest. It ends almost classically (elegantly) in a cedarwood moss bed. This scent comes very close. But it’s not my scent; it’s his.
