Exhausted amidst furry honey blossoms
My heart beats like a jungle drum
In brown-tinted, leather-balsamic darkness
Finding oneself *

Oh, what a pity, the daffodils seemed to be calling me - but I can't handle gourmand sweetness right now...

Well, honey blossoms...I wouldn't need that.

Narrow line, it can definitely be good, but please not so sweet.

Oh dear, what a shame about the barely noticeable, sticky daffodil.

I would have expected Angelos to dive deep into the topic. But it's very hesitant.

That wouldn't be for me either. The bubblegum bubble has to burst... ;-)

I'm curious to hear more impressions. Maybe my skin is responsible for the bubblegum effect too. 🤷🏻♂️

If you can handle the honey sweetness better, definitely...

I usually really like Angelos, I haven't disliked anything so far, although I'm cautious with honey blossoms. I could give ATC a try this evening.

I was hoping, I actually have their CD... @Midnights

Maybe you have less bubblegum than I do... And I was thinking more of Emiliana Torrini than ATC. :)

The journey to the wonderful base would probably be too "thorny" for me as well...

The house has better and less prickly options in their collection. :)

Ah, you got to test it - I was just about to order a sample, but then the shipping made it too expensive for me. Hmm. Sounds mixed.

I just had to track this down and test it. I like the work of the perfumer and daffodils anyway. But I’m a bit disappointed.

I would have considered this a safe blind buy candidate for me - flowers, animalic notes, daffodil... Luckily, I've kicked the blind buy habit. ;)

That sounded really exciting... until I read "Bubblegum."

Maybe your skin brings out less bubblegum from the scent. For me, it’s just too over-the-top and too sweet.

With this house, I often notice that the bases are the highlight, and the journey there can be a bit rough.

I've had one or two from the brand, where the base was a bit weak, but the rest was very nice. And vice versa. Well, Angelos has some really beautiful scents, so we can forgive him the occasional miss. :)

The house has had a special place in my heart since Angeliki, but I find some creations as challenging as this one sounds. I'd prefer a nice base over just a charming top note, but for cheers, both need to be pretty, please. :)

I want both and everything and always. :) But yes, after "Angeliki," Angelos has a special place in my fragrance heart.

I would probably feel the same way, you described it well below. These bubblegum gourmand vibes don't really match the beautiful base.

I think the bubblegum gourmand vibes weren't intended either. Maybe it's a matter of skin chemistry.

Hmmm, thanks for the poetic and once again so helpful description! I really like Angelo's handwriting - and even though I've greatly expanded my tolerance for sweet scents lately, I think I would see this one similarly. It's a shame there's not enough daffodil; I expected something different here.

Thanks for the lovely feedback. :) I admit, depending on the scent, I can handle sweet a bit better. However, I would have liked much more daffodil.

That sounds quite difficult. With such a great brand, a less convincing scent is manageable.

Absolutely, it's all a matter of taste. The brand really has some other beautiful treasures. :)

The honey here is quite light. If you can handle sweet better, it might work for you.

I didn't even realize there was a new addition to the house. The individual notes sound really nice in theory, but if it leans towards bubblegum, we're way off the mark and the goal. Even a nice base wouldn't be enough for me there.

Maybe it's also a matter of skin chemistry, but on me, the scent is just too sweet and over the top. With a fragrance that has such a name, I would have expected a stronger presence of narcissus; it's quite subtle here.

I really like the brand too, there are many fine treasures among them. This one is a bit too loud and over the top for me in the first two thirds.

* While I usually nitpick about the base, it's the opposite here. The base is beautiful, but the journey to it is filled with shadows and light. Animalic musk paired with daffodil and chamomile turns into bubblegum for me. My fragile sweetness threshold is sensitively touched here, and the gourmand tendencies push me over the edge. By the time honey comes in, my tolerance is reached, plus there's not enough daffodil and too much sugary orange blossom for me. But then "Narkissos" undergoes a wonderful transformation. The base becomes increasingly spicy, tobacco warms everything up, fine leather spreads out, becoming a bit creamy, and resin drips onto patchouli. From shrill sweetness into warming darkness. In this dim light, I like it much better. However, I don't want to go through that journey again and again.

P.S. In the drydown, the scent occasionally reminds me of "Epona." However, Liz has refined her fragrance: the animalic notes in "Epona" come across as more elegant, subtle, and therefore more poetic.
