Come, let us listen to the words of the warm wind. On the slopes of the Sierra, it falls with the frost, rippling the cold mirror of the water, the image of the mountains in Big Bear Lakes, the wooden cabin at the end of the dock, the spicy cypress trees of Green Valleys in the San Bernardino National Forest, the needles like glowing limes, tar dripping like dew from the bright birches, like ethereal embers ignited by its breath in the salty sunlight over the bay. *** Al Manlé's Melbourne label Anka Kuş Parfüm aims to create time capsules of places and memories. "Los Vientos de Santa Ana" transports us to the scent of the winds that arise in the basin between the Rocky Mountains and the southern Sierra Nevada, still cold as they fall over the mountain ranges, warming increasingly as they descend over the coniferous forests, before meeting the Pacific over Los Angeles. The fragrance is characterized by fresh, cool, hesperidic notes, spicy-lemony cypress, bright woody notes, smoky-resinous, slightly sharp birch tar, as well as salty amber, and becomes a bit warmer and more balsamic over time with guaiac and amber. It always feels natural and balanced, and it also reminds me, in its moderate longevity and projection, of the natural scents from Barnaby Black, particularly Mescalito with its cool, dark freshness, the balance of hesperidic conifer resins, salt, and birch tar.
What I've tested from this men's line so far has also impressed me. I consider it a refined spirit that tells stories through its scents. I haven't experienced anything like this at this level before. Sure, one might wonder if everything is wearable, but that's not always the main point. Thank you for the journey through Los Vientos de Santa Ana.
I really enjoyed listening to these words again; I’m sure I would love this scent. I'm currently testing another one from this brand and I'm more than thrilled...
Sounds like a lovely forest scent. But shouldn't the winds and their fragrances vary significantly depending on the season? Holy Ana and Nevada aren't exactly near the equator, are they?
I find America magical! If I ever get the chance again, I'll disappear there for an indefinite time. Thank you so much for the wonderful fragrance painting!
Natural and balanced doesn't have to be my thing in a perfume; maybe harmonious, sure, but it should also pack a punch and smell good! I'm not really into these nature-inspired scents! And whether the wind is warm or cold, I just don't hear it say anything!
Wow, what a treat for the senses! Wonderful pictures. :)
I don't know the scent (yet) (I should probably change that), but the winds between the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada. Thanks for the flashback to those dreamy words and memories.
Your review was a pleasure to read again.
Just like always.. ;-)
You really captured the scent well... I found it quite interesting... but I still feel like I'm missing something to wear it...
I do enjoy listening to the words of the wind.
It really makes you feel wanderlust and want to set off ;)...
That warm wind has certainly captured you and taken you away ;)
Very nice!
