There is a place in Ibiza that I love very much. It is a small farm that practices organic agriculture. This includes a charming little farm shop and a café that offers food and drinks made from its own products. More and more, the estate has also developed into a place for human-animal encounters, similar to my sanctuary here in Germany. There are always courses for children, which are especially aimed at teaching them how to interact with (farm) animals.
At Los Vientos de Santa Ana, I am exactly there. First, I take a walk around the grounds, having booked a "Visita Libre," and I initially look at all the herbs and vegetable plants that are grown there. It smells of cypress in spring, reminiscent of a typical Mediterranean landscape. In the distance, I can perceive the sea. The ground beneath my feet has the characteristic red color of Ibiza.
After a moment of tranquility under the wonderful fig tree, whose fruits are certainly not ripe at this time of year, I check on the animals. The beautiful chickens that rush at every lettuce leaf as if there will never be food again, and the goats that can look so lovingly. They love carob, which I gladly give them to eat. The characteristic smell of this food, combined with the animals' fur, is in the air here.
To finish, I enjoy a few slices of the delicious homemade bread produced by the farm. Of course, also a fresh egg. What a wonderful day!
After Los Vientos de Santa Ana initially put me off with its tarry notes, which can sometimes come across as animalistic to my nose, it won me over after a short time. This combination of citrus, herbs, wood, and birch tar with only a hint of aquatic notes immediately transports one to a place like this. Everything here is so authentic. Certainly not a scent I would want to wear, but this fragrance is always worth a little journey.
I was really looking forward to this perfume and had high expectations. Today I received some samples. At first, I was a bit taken aback, but now I'm totally thrilled! You really experience a journey with this one, and I've never felt that way before. In this case, you have to give the scents and yourself some time. Thank you for your travel report!
Cheers to fragrances that can transport you to another place. It's been a while since that happened to me. And that doesn't necessarily mean you wanted to go there or want to wear the scent...
Beautiful pictures from the Mediterranean nature! The scent must be quite interesting, especially since I found another fragrance from this brand to be very successful...
Very nicely written, now I want to go to the lovely hens and the goats. And a soft-boiled egg would be just perfect for me. I'd gladly take two of those.
I really enjoyed accompanying you on your visit.. I feel warmed not just because of the temperature.. I love how you see and treat animals :):) .. and if the goat holds back a bit, I might even like the scent.. thanks for the lovely Ibiza trip!!
Ohhhh how beautiful, I'm off to travel right away......
Animalic scents still scare me a bit.
With you, it sounds like maybe you just have to let yourself go, surrender to the fragrance, just like all the facets, all the scent experiences and taste delights on the organic farm unfold throughout the day. Ibiza organic nature trophy for you :-)
Your description is wonderful, and I can really picture the place in Ibiza. The scent probably isn't for me, even though I always find such olfactory experiences enriching.
Beautiful! A dreamy place that I could effortlessly explore and sniff along with you in your lovely review. Definitely an interesting scent. Do you run a sanctuary?
I think you’ve mentioned this location in Ibiza before. It sounds lovely. I’m a bit skeptical about this brand now. None of them have really convinced me, and your review isn’t exactly enthusiastic, which doesn’t surprise me after your description. Such things can be fascinating, but they can also get annoying quickly.
Birch tar and aquatic? That catches my attention because I like both.
And I would really love to be there in Ibiza right now. Finally getting out again...
Your sanctuary? Oh, how wonderful, I would love to hear more about that too.
