Pulchra es

Green tuberose on sandalwood with herb neroli pesto. (Basil? Could be, could also not be.) The tuberose shines beautifully innocent, but only pretends to. In other words, a nicely tied, impressive bouquet of white flowers and elegant cream. Spirit and tenderness: hopefully someone recognizes their girlfriend in it. I think of Song of Solomon 4:1, but that is of course a high claim.

I usually like green-white and it is currently in fashion, but I find this perfume even better in that direction than the ones with fig, like Vanuatu or the now also overused cardamom-sandal combination, like in Santal blond. What Anarlan means by a lack of substance, I can only guess. In any case, I find it pleasant that the sandalwood remains a bit lighter here and the other notes keep it in suspension. This works very well for about three hours, then the girlfriend, uh, the sandalwood does dominate the rest. However, the scent does not become too heavy and buttery. After another two hours, I get more woody notes and even a very, very faint hint of smoke and eucalyptus. I perceive this phase as rather cool. Furthermore, the scent feels smooth. I attribute this to the iris, which does not appear powdery at all here. Towards the end, it becomes (unfortunately) sweeter and richer. The scent superficially gives a linear impression, little changes with a fleeting sniff, but underneath the elements are almost playing tag and there is quite a lot going on. Neither too simple nor too complex, always charming. Despite its rather light nature, the perfume radiates well.

If anyone is wondering what white oud is: It has nothing to do with agarwood at all. It is obtained from the plant Aetoxylon sympetalum through steam distillation. It smells warm, balsamic with an aromatic note of moss, lichen, wood with a hint of leather in the base note and light tones in the top notes. (Sources: Maienfelser Naturkosmetik, Wikipedia). I find all of this in this successful scent. Certainly excellent in summer at the public bath or in winter in the forest or for that matter even during Bible reading: Behold, my girlfriend, you are beautiful.

Thank you so much for the beautifully written review (as always)!
I didn't know anything about white oud either (thanks for that!), and I think the information really fits the scent well.
I also find the fragrance successful, but unfortunately, I'm not very fond of tuberose and would have preferred more iris.

My friend, meine Freundin: That's a beautiful name for a perfume, and it seems you really liked it. Unfortunately, I've come to realize over time that, alongside my full-blown and probably incurable East German pants, I'm also suffering from a budding case of tuberose allergy-hopefully that will go away at least. But at the moment, I really can't stand tuberose. I still enjoyed your vivid and relatable scent description, though. Oh, and what you wrote about white oud: I didn't know that either, and now I understand why Frau Tonis' "White Oud" felt so strange to me. Thank you!

I've learned something new here. And tuberose with greenery is almost always a home run for me. The heart notes felt a bit too airy, but that's just due to my mood.
