Leather. Leather! Leather!!!

This is what I call a leather scent!

The supposedly present mandarin in the top notes initially stays well hidden and has taken the incense from the base along with it.
The strongly scented (wild?) leather is warm, soft, slightly smoky, a bit resinous, sensual, and pleasantly aromatic, which is probably achieved through the mandarin and the incense.
Citrus, sweet, and gourmand notes are - if at all - only subtly perceptible.
A noticeable light synthetic note reminds us that leather is tanned.

This scent should be the thing for any leather lover - no matter the reason - although the leather is more dark brown than deep black.

On my other wrist, I have Ombré Leather Parfum by TF for comparison ... it is more delicate, softer, and above all, more floral ... and smells significantly less like leather.
Thus, it will likely be the 'better' perfume in the true sense, just like the leather 6 tested yesterday by J. F. Schwarzlose Berlin, as both are more complex.
Although they both carry leather in their name, they do not smell nearly as intensely of leather.

One gets a strong and long-lasting portion of leather for an unbeatable price!
If a woman is not put off by FOR HIM, it can fit well too!
Due to its certain one-dimensionality, Chevalier is probably also best suited for layering.

The somewhat unusually structured cylindrical bottle is quite heavy and features a magnetic closure. The label band is made of a kind of artificial leather.

I like leather perfumes, but often they end up being either too sweet or smell synthetic and cheap. The leather is often overshadowed or stifled by other elements. With the Obre Leather perfume, I found the overall composition too pleasing and trivial.
With this one, I also worry that it might end up smelling too cheap.
My personal reference for an optimal leather perfume is John Varvatos "Dark Rebel Rider." Unfortunately, the sillage and longevity are relatively low here.

Unfortunately, I don't know Dark Rebel Rider, so I can't make a comparison. Since Chevalier Noir is very affordable and sometimes even available on sale, a blind buy might be worth it.
