Creamy Mild Oriental with Rather Weak Performance
In the "Sun Collection" by Azha, which consists of 19 fragrances, there are eight scents each for women and men, as well as three unisex fragrances: Cigar Oud, Explosion, and Woody Drop.
Cigar Oud is, to my nose, clearly the weakest scent of the three, especially since the name promises much more than it delivers.
The fragrance starts off mild like an Eau de Toilette or Eau de Cologne with a quirky underlying freshness, which is soon joined by a light, creamy sweetness reminiscent of a minty coconut, that can also be interpreted as a kind of bubblegum note.
Then woody and slightly smoky notes come into play, and the sweetness intensifies a bit, while the delicate freshness quickly fades and the bubblegum note diminishes slowly.
A lightly fruity, warm creamy-woody base remains. However, after just four to five hours, only a slightly spicy caramel note can be detected close to the skin, which, however, lingers for several more hours.
By above-average longevity, I understand something different.
Cigar Oud is thus not what the name suggests. Tobacco and oud are rather only to be guessed at; the oud mentioned twice in the notes emits no animalic qualities.
While there is a pleasant, light oriental scent suitable for any occasion, it lacks anything special and only has a somewhat weak performance. What a pity.
All three unisex fragrances of the Sun Collection come in a classically styled, quite heavy bottle and are topped with a similarly heavy, gold-colored turban-like metal cap.
