.....I love this scent. A fragrance that has blown me away again after a very long time.
I don't actually like amaretto and I'm not particularly fond of marzipan either, but that's what greets you at the beginning. At first, it reminds me of amaretini or marzipan. But if you wait about 15 minutes, this super elegant powdery suede note comes forward. And this scent truly gets better every 15 minutes. I don't find it feminine. What is really feminine or masculine? It always depends on who wears the fragrance and how.
I'm a BDK fan anyway. If you understand the brand, the fragrances are great. Beautiful young, elegant scents. Velvet Tonka is a super beautiful autumn-winter fragrance, but I can also imagine it smelling wonderful on a summer evening. Thankfully, I don't smell the rose too much. And even though there is no suede in it, it already smells like powdered suede. I can't describe it any other way.
I got it as a man too, and since I was a fan of Guerlain L'Homme Idéal, this one blew me away. It's an awesome scent, and you don't smell like the mainstream because it's unique.
Your headline reminded me of my Tapis Volant by Liquides Imaginaires: dug it out, sprayed it on, ahhhh! Like a powdered suede bag. I also like bdk! Thanks for the inspiration. Best, Patpow
Oh my god, that sounds soooo good... like a stroll through Florence! So, this is going on my wishlist, even if I have to take something else off... the rose wouldn’t bother me at all, quite the opposite :-) you’ll get a suede dice cup.
