A Photorealistic Beach Grass Fragrance
My stream of consciousness review:

Super fresh out the bat. There’s a fruitiness to it that strikes me as pomegranate or passion fruit. There’s also a fresh, herbal note that is feeling like eucalyptus, though it’s not overwhelming. I’m also getting a very subtle coconut note that has woody undertones. That must be the coconut husk. This is such a unique freshie scent!
Now that it has dried down I’m getting an herbal, slightly pungent, note of beach grass. You know that salty and aromatic scent that hits you in the face when you’re walking through the brush fields on the edge of a sandy beach? Just like that! There’s also a slight citrusy element that is shining through, adding a sharp, kind of bitter kick to the composition.
An hour in and it’s still a fresh yet pungent fragrance profile. I looked up Nasturtium and apparently their flowers can have a somewhat pungent scent, so I’m guessing that’s where I’m getting that from. Though now that it has dried down, the pine and hay is also emerging. This definitely leans masculine, but the freshness gives it some unisex appeal as well.
At 11am it’s still performing well and has evolve into a softer, slightly bitter, rendition of salt air and beach grass. By 1pm I’m still getting hints, though the projection has long since faded. I’d say I got a solid 5 hours of longevity which is pretty good for a fresh scent in my opinion.
Honestly, I don’t think this is a fragrance I personally would want to wear with any regularity, but I’m fascinated by how realistically it captures its namesake. Like the other perfumes in the Aeolian Coast Tides collection, it isn’t a tropical sort of beach scent. It speaks to coastal New England, northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. “Aeolian” apparently means “caused by the wind” which is very apt for Beach Grass. This scent is a burst of wind through the underbrush of a rocky, coast. It’s so interesting and I highly recommend getting your nose on it.
