You've found some wonderful words for this beautiful scent! I really like the story behind it too. The sweetness of the grape at the beginning has a honey-like quality for me, which, by the way, lasts for months on a preserved scent strip in a plastic sleeve... I find that remarkable. But I also really enjoy the shift to the more bitter notes on the skin. And yes! The scent is rebellious! And hedonistic ☺️
A tribute to the charming, rebellious, and authority-critical philosopher and musician Ji Kang (223-262), who was said to move "like a jade mountain" when drunk. I have to be quick with the top note because the beautiful aldehyde-bright, unsweet fresh green grape doesn't last long. Then comes a lot of bitter thyme and delicate, animalistic labdanum, only lightly sweetened with balsamic styrax. The base becomes softer and softer until the woods - also soft - become noticeable. Thank you @HasenNase for introducing me to this wonderful discovery!
Top and bottom. 👌
That's quite a combination, interesting!
