Daydream of a Hopscotch
It's like everyone says—this is a Play-doh fragrance.
It's funny that people will often describe a vanillic fragrance as smelling like Play-doh (derogatory lol). So for the BY FAR team to request it specifically, I was hoping for a higher-brow or more unusual take on the note. But it's very literal.
Hasbro has actually trademarked the Play-doh scent for branding purposes, describing it as, “a sweet, slightly musky, vanilla fragrance, with slight overtones of cherry, combined with the smell of a salted, wheat-based dough.” Cherry and almond have a lot of similarities in terms of aroma compounds (or so I'm told), so the almond and vanilla in the base notes aren't necessarily notes being added to the composition. They're already there in recreating the Play-doh scent.
This is fun, I suppose. But to me, it's no different than a Demeter recreation of Play-doh (which they do actually have, FYI!)
