The leasing contract
I admit, I'm not that familiar with it, you don't buy something like that every day, and it's far too expensive. I've always had second-hand ones, that was enough for me. But now, with electrics and all that, Kölbl Chris made me a great offer and I've been friends with him since kindergarten, although he wasn't selling cars back then of course.

When the car arrived, I thought it was really nice. Sure, the cheapest plastic deserts, some with a wooden look, something from Zwickau back then, but now it comes from China, but apart from that it had everything you need. Forwards, backwards, left, right, everything was there. And leather seats. Although the leather wasn't quite genuine, it was a bit sticky. But it's good, increases lateral support, Chris said.

I thought the smell was still okay, like a new car, freshly peeled out of the plastic wrap, or maybe still under it. But I thought it would fade quickly. And that's the problem, because it doesn't. Chris said that this is a feature of the manufacturer's, that every half hour a little new car fragrance is blown in via the ventilation system. To emphasize the quality and high-quality appearance of the materials in the long term, says Chris. You can't turn it off. It's in the leasing contract, of course, on page 23 under XXVI.24-3-c. Pretty small print. No one reads that!

I can't get out of the leasing contract, says my lawyer. But the contract includes fully comprehensive insurance. I'm going to Berlin now, to a bad neighborhood. The barbecue lighter is already in the trunk. Maybe a leasing contract isn't so bad after all.

-----------------------

It was Christian Kölbl's declared aim to capture the smell of new cars, presumably those of higher quality, with leather seats and such. He succeeded to a certain extent, in that the knots of plastic (along with some paint and ozone) that permeate the fragrance are reminiscent of the interior of a new car that has been left in the sun for a little too long. The fragrance also fills the room for the first half hour.

What doesn't make me think so much of new cars is the violet, which is floral here, but unfortunately doesn't want to evoke any association with gasoline. The leather is a post-modern faux leather, as we know it from Ombre Leather or Tuscan Leather and hate it, or like it, it should be. Towards the base, it becomes a little woody and there is also a slight gum note, as if it contained galbanum. The whole thing is consistently 100% synthetic, which I really like here. The initially expansive silage quickly recedes to a pleasant level and the fragrance stays there for a long time.

I don't think Neuwagen is as bad as it is sometimes rated here, but it's nowhere near as good either. Mr. Kölbl is actually an artist and so I would have liked the fragrance to be more artistic and less wearable: more lacquer and solvents, pungent plastic with plasticizers, violets with petrol in their blood and a little bit of cable fire to go with the rubber. I wouldn't prefer to wear it for that reason, but it would be more fun. As it is, it's just a subtly spicy, post-modern faux leather loaded with flowers.

You can take a look at the maker's thoughts on the fragrance on the website, it's quite interesting.

Thanks to Floyd, I'll stick with my Skoda!

Greetings from the car dealership
When I was little, my father commuted between two large German cities every week for work. I can still remember the rental cars. Always small cars, always VW, Audi or BMW. I can remember the queues at Europcar, the arguments at the counter and climbing down or up into the underground and elevated garages where all the shiny black cars were parked.
Above all, I remember the smell. The surface of the barely used cars, reminiscent of newly bought clothes. Polyester, artificial leather and cheap cotton, barely worn and covered with a layer of deceptive perfection.

Years later, I am in Frankfurt and, through various circumstances, visit the studio of a well-known artist. On entering, I spot a "new" Mercedes in the middle of an otherwise empty room. Well-styled people are walking around, trying to relate to the scene. The hood is completely dented, the star on the radiator grille has not made it. On the battered surface are the perfumes I was vaguely told about earlier. Concept artwork, real perfume, new car scent.

I step closer, take the massive bottle in my hand and spray it on my wrist. As if I've hit a wall, I take in the full force of synthetic and yes ... New car smell. All the anonymous VW Golfs, Audi A3s and Mercedes A-Classes come into my head at the same time and I decide not to open a third sprayer. I feel armored, untouchable. After I take a champagne glass and stand next to a group of half-acquainted creatives, I notice how the effect changes. The scent continues to take over. But it feels like the car is being broken in, as if air conditioning and body temperatures are warming up and humanizing the smell of new cars. The perfume and I are slowly entering into a yet-to-be-defined but promising lease.

New car: Children's electric car
Wow, super! I first had to buy a new car because of the scent! It's just stupid that I couldn't wear the new car for a year until the configured car finally arrived! Unfortunately I didn't have any money left for a decent engine, so I spent it all on the foot sensor on the trunk! But I have a problem. Several in principle, but only one with regard to the smell: the new coach smells better than the olfactory new car here. So it's also completely different. "Cheat pack of the year" suggestion is already out.

But yes! Yes, this fragrance smells of leather. Very classy, of course. Unfortunately, someone has sprayed a lot of varnish over it, some kind of fruity mixture too. Smells like nail polish remover with raspberry or strawberry. Uh, I mean like new leather *wink wink* in a new car *wink wink*.
Sorry, I had something in my eye, I was holding the spray head wrong.

Don't worry, friends: the fermented fruit will go away, it just smells like musk. *wink wink*....but so does this spray! Pepper is there, helps the fragrance too. Doesn't seem completely off, rounds it off, disguises it, you could say. The ozonic notes are actually there, it smells like sour air, so I think the air conditioning in the car is broken. But something else: I was wondering how a fragrance can smell like plastic, but people are raving about high-quality cars? The last plastic car my son had was an electric one in Mercedes design. He was three then. Maybe all the proclamations are about a car like that?
Then a few moments in which the violet reminds me of Fahrenheit, of the legendary gasoline note. Apparently you don't wash with water or just torch everything.

Seriously, this olfactory new car is extremely reminiscent of Ombre Leather, which, due to its squeaky synthetics, just smells snobbish, cheap and intrusive to my nose. These attitudes are also evoked here. What is not depicted is the smell of a new car with leather seats.

NEW CARS
Wow. This is strong. Freshly sprayed he haut you ersmtal around, takes a bit until he decreases in intensity.

The scent progression is very interesting. At the very beginning, he is like with the crowbar intensely smelling of lacquer and leather, the longer he is with me on the skin, the creamier he becomes.

The opening is almost pungent intense, like when you just get into a brand new car.

FInde the analogy actually very good. The new car fragrance goes with the car after a few months vorrüber and adapts to the owner. Here, the fragrance adapts to the wearer and becomes really softer over time and no longer so strongly leathery. Musk dominates then.

Am currently still torn whether I should secure a bottle, 250€ is an announcement. Think but that you can give him here determined also to other users again. Let's see.

Thanks, by the way, to the very nice Christian, who sent me a small sample via Instagram. :-)
