i was really excited to try this because it has a magnolia note. i grew up with magnolia trees and i find their smell to be indescribably beautiful. unfortunately, this magnolia is buried under tons and tons of Crayola air-dry clay, which, if you're wondering, does not smell like traditional clay whatsoever. its plastic-y and synthetic. it reminds me of the smell of a children's classroom, or perhaps the end of a pencil. maybe the smell of a burning hot glue gun. with this being said, it isn't terrible. i find it to be unique, charming, slightly waxy, and nostalgic. the magnolia note is still there, it just takes a backseat for sure. i looked at the notes that chronotope listed on their website, and if i'm being frank, i don't think i could pick out any of them (except hollow ship hulls? maybe? this perfume has a musty hollowness to it). despite the wacky synthetic nature of it, it's still distinctly floral, and i'd consider to it to be wearable for the brave (or maybe for a pre-school art teacher). one of chronotope's weirdest.
