Comforting and cozy
This is one of my standbys and I would say it’s mostly “just vanilla.” A warm, cozy vanilla, sweet but not too sweet.
The opening is vanilla and powder, still wet it reminds of a baby wipe with a lot of vanilla, as soon as it’s dry it’s more powdery. The powder portion is gone within an hour or so, leaving what seems to me a mostly straightforward vanilla, not cupcake-style, but not lacking completely in sweetness either. It seems nice and balanced. It doesn’t seem very “sophisticated,” but it is definitely a comfort scent for me and I think the name fits it perfectly. I reach for this one a lot in the evenings when I want something undemanding. I like this one a lot; I do wish it was a little less powdery in the opening, but it gets better the longer it’s on. Reminiscent of the BBW candle “Meet Me in Tahiti,” which I find pretty comforting. It shares some similarities with BBW’s Warm Vanilla Sugar as well, although Cozy Blanket smells more complex and “deeper” to me.
Husband’s reaction soon after application: a doubtful “mm,” a shake of the head and, ”smells like baby powder.” He agrees that about 30-40 minutes later or so the baby powder element quiets down and it smells “better,” which he further described as “spicy.” (I don’t get spice at any point throughout the wear.)
Notes on notes: I don’t smell the patchouli, sandalwood, or amber overtly, and I assume they’re just hanging out in the background to make the scent a little more complex. I can’t pick out individual vanillas, but yes it’s predominantly vanilla and a warm one.
*I got the linen spray in a swap and since it wasn't in a sprayer, I've just applied it to my skin. When I run out I will likely order the perfume oil version.
