More Rescent Man than Ombre Nomade
You can already tell from the title where I would classify the fragrance. Or rather, what the fragrance wants to be and which fragrance is its personal role model. Presumably Ombre Nomade is his role model, but for me it is closer to Rescent Man by Mystery, Modern Mark.
Rescent Man and Ombre Nomade are strong woody fragrances with a fruity twist. They also have certain smoky and "leathery" traits. I also get a rose note in both fragrances. The Ombre Nomade doesn't have a rose listed, but somehow I also get these light rose vibes.
With the Shadow by D'Qar, we get a fragrance that goes in exactly the same direction as the two fragrances just mentioned.
Woody with this great oud character. Quite powerful, radiant and masculine.
There is also this slightly fruity twist from the raspberry. There is also this smoky haze.
The whole thing is quite dark and simply has something about it.
It is not without reason that an Ombre Nomade is still so popular and hype to this day. This fragrance simply has a certain appeal.
Admittedly, there will still be many people who don't like this fragrance. Many people outside our "bubble" find such fragrances tiring and stressful.
I can certainly understand that. Many people will probably only learn to love such fragrances over time.
In any case, the Shadow by D'Qar, just like the Rescent Man by Mystery, Modern Mark is a little softer than the Ombre Nomade. Although they are also relatively strong, they are significantly less strong than the Ombre Nomade. They radiate less and are simply more subtle and softer overall.
If you like this kind of fragrance, the Shadow will definitely be something for you! I also have to say that the performance is really good. The fragrance still radiates well and lasts for 9-10 hours on me.
Admittedly, this is only the second D'Qar that has convinced me in terms of performance.
I've had 4 in the test so far.
Shadow has now scored best there. Woke Up In Vegas was also decent in this area.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the performance of Mythos and I don't even need to start with Santorini. It's really poor in terms of performance.
