Many Thoughts
As someone with a lot of respect for Dolly Parton and a love of fragrance, I leapt at the chance to get a holiday gift set with the perfume and body spray! This scent is a little different for me; while I gravitate toward musky vanilla-amber scents, there's a little bit of a twist to this one that makes it unique to my collection: it's an airy patchouli-cloud, soft and vaguely powdery-musky. It's Mature Made Modern, with a sparkly-fruity opening and orchid sweetness to soften the edges of the patchouli.
Having worn this a couple of times, there was a lingering sense of familiarity every time I sniffed my wrist, and I finally figured it out last night: this scent is in the same family as V&R Flowerbomb and TS Wonderstruck! It is not by any means a dupe of either, but they share similar DNA. There's the orchid-patchouli-vanilla cloud quality of Flowerbomb, and the woody-fruity-musky sweetness of Wonderstruck, but it's distinct enough from both of them that you could call it more of an aunt or cousin than a sister.
Overall conclusion: this is a very nice scent. While I'm not sure I will get a lot of wear out of it due to my own preferences, I am happy to have it out of love for Dolly and satisfaction that my curiosity about Scent From Above has finally been sated.
