The beginning was the most exciting part of the scent because of that unusual note, but once the cola vibes kicked in, it became boring for me. Other EO fragrances that I didn't like as much were at least more interesting to smell over time.
The beginning was still exciting for me because a note caught my attention; it was rather herbaceous and reminded me of tree bark. I guess it’s the carob tree that came to mind, even though I’m not really sure if that’s what it smells like. This opening then fades with the onset of the resinous notes, which are supposed to resemble cola, but as a non-cola drinker, I always have to wonder if that fits. The majority of the floral notes appear briefly and then quickly disappear, leaving behind some sweetness. Then the scent becomes darker (honey) and resinous, which I believe comes from the oud. There’s also vanilla tobacco, making the scent mostly sweet-resinous-spicy for me. I don’t find the vanilla too overpowering, which is good for me, but something in the drydown bothers me as a note-something undefined and scratchy, more on paper. On the skin, the scent is stronger in its darker aspects, while on paper, the flowers are more prominent.
It partially hits its theme, but I also find the mix a bit off. I do think of cola here, but I've experienced it done better in Midnight Bar by Siam 1928. I believe it's more for enthusiasts who might enjoy cola more than I do. So for me, it's about a 6.5-7, depending on whether you like such scents or not.
This one just didn't suit me as well, but that's what testing is for :-)
