A very heavy fragrance
Many thanks to Nick for the sample of "Oud SQ (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" :-) This is once again a very heavy fragrance from Ensar Oud. I don't find it unbearable, but I haven't become truly happy with it. The longevity is strong at around 12 hours, and the sillage is also quite successful.
The top note starts dark, balsamic, sweet, and spicy with aromas of labdanum, dried plums, plantain syrup, cloves, and a certain pepperiness. The heart note offers a certain rose aromatic quality. Then the oud sneaks in, providing oriental, woody, earthy, and also bitter nuances. In the base, the agarwood becomes more dominant. It remains a dark, spicy, woody, but also resinous and slightly smoky experience. Castoreum adds an animalic touch, and there is also a hint of tobacco and leather.
There will surely be quite a few enthusiasts for this. For me, however, it is simply too heavy.
