Funkmaster kicks off directly and unmistakably. The Chinese oud is immediately present and meets a malty-spicy musk...

Dry, woody, warmth, and complexity. Definitely quite nice!

Even though I'm tired of the umpteenth iteration of Private Blend, this one sounds really appealing, in my opinion.

I was actually contacted and asked for my opinion on the scent, so this description is a bit more detailed this time. Thank you! ☺️

I would have expected a bit more "funk" here, especially since the Overfunk really lived up to its name. But it sounds great as it is and probably fits better into the composition. Bitter berries and oud is generally a fantastic combo.

The Chinese oud and musk are clearly present in this composition; the scent overall has a consistently animalistic quality, but it calms down a bit over time. Compared to Überoud, where I found the oud a bit lacking, I feel it's well-balanced here and in harmony with the musk.

...that gives the fragrance its animalistic depth right from the start. I also notice subtle notes of black tea and black currants, which make the combination feel slightly bitter to me. The scent has a certain waxiness that adds substance and depth without coming off as soft or overly pleasing. The pepper note brings a dry sharpness that makes the opening even more striking and pairs perfectly with the Chinese oud. The fragrance remains consistently dry and woody, but gains warmth and complexity over time.
I really, really like it 🫶🏼
