Well, look at that, you鈥檝e obviously found your final match. I find your classification 馃憞 particularly interesting. Thanks for that. I鈥檝e always thought the Purple Rain variations were a bit negligible since I appreciated the much bolder Iris Ghalia blueprint more. Congrats!
* For me personally, this is probably the final version of Purple Rain. It has its own DNA compared to the older Purple Rain, with blackcurrant, iris, and beautifully complex oud in focus. Just like with PR: Trifecta and Jiaozhi provide a great dark background that makes it feel more royal and mysterious. Here, it鈥檚 softer and creamier, likely due to the oud and the civet, which replaces the leathery-smoky animalic note of castoreum. Now everything finally comes together for me-no earthy-minty smokiness like in Trifecta, and no bitter leather in the drydown, as was the case with Jiaozhi. The animalic note is definitely present, but it perfectly darkens the scent without ever drifting into an unpleasant or overwhelming animalic direction. From start to finish, it鈥檚 beautifully powdery-fruity, soft, complex, and mysteriously dark.
