It’s hard to compare Caterina’s Dinner Party to anything on the market because it’s so unique but I’d say it’s in the same world as Dandelion Butter by Clue- a sort of lactonic base with brighter green facets and sheer florals. There’s a really soft soapy orange blossom under a veil of sweet, creamy almond milk and sappy green stems. It’s sort of a “watercolor” interpretation of a gourmand, not dissimilar from something Liis might create (à la Choux Choux or Celestial Object). Ethereal, translucent, transcendent- the imagery that comes to mind is crème anglaise being drizzled on glossy, iridescent soap bubbles. Good Dearest Unhappy created magic with this scent. This also fits squarely into my favorite emerging category of “unconventional gourmands.”
