Unusual Combination

Under the name Lavender Blossom, I expected a rather classic lavender water, so to speak, lavender itself! Upon spraying, this seems to be confirmed, as I smell lavender in a quite pure form.

Lavender does not seem to be very persistent, and in this perfume, it primarily shapes the top note. Soon, it recedes a bit and reveals the heart and base notes. And that is indeed a surprise. At first, I smell something dry and woody, but then I sense a slight gasoline-like, almost tar-like note, similar to what is characteristic of Le Male, Skulpture pour Homme, or Body Kouros. However, in a much more subtle variant.

After all, the similarity is there. A look at the fragrance pyramid of Le Male reveals that lavender is also included! So, comparison test: left hand Lavender Blossom, right hand Le Male. OK, Lavender Blossom is much, much subtler than Le Male. It remains much more restrained and has far less spiciness than Le Male. And it stays drier; the emphasized sweetness that is characteristic of Le Male is missing. Le Male is opulent, Lavender Blossom is subtle. However, the base is a bit darker than in Le Male, leaning more towards a lignite-like direction.

I find this Lavender Blossom original, as I did not expect this combination. Personally, the lavender fades away a bit too quickly in favor of the gasoline-like base note, so unfortunately, this perfume does not quite deliver what it promises. I must note, however, that I cannot perceive lavender well, especially when it appears in a strong environment. It may be that others experience it longer.
