Finally a real perfume!
I can't express how glad I am to have stumbled upon Harry Lehmann by chance. What a house! This is what I've longed for. Tradition, quality, and individuality. This is old school at its finest. It's all about the scent here! And you can tell right away! They stick to what works and uphold the high art of perfumery. No marketing gimmicks, no chasing after trends! This company is confident, and rightly so! All the fluff is unnecessary because everything is just right! How wonderful that is. When you spray a scent from Harry Lehmann, you still have emotions, you feel special. Also because of the individuality. You are not one of millions, not a mainstreamer. Here, the perfume remains what it should be, namely the personal signature. Every detail is lovingly crafted. Just the wonderful, neutral, nostalgic bottles. Delightful! They are beautiful. That's how I wish to store my scent. I don't think I'm going too far to say that I have finally arrived. Harry Lehmann fulfills my wishes and requirements for something as intimate as a perfume. Thank you for still having something like this! The philosophy speaks to me a thousand percent!
Russian Leather is for me one of the best Cuir de Russie I have ever had under my nose. Heavy, dark, carrying, full. And yet not clumsy, but excellent and elegant. Stylish to the highest degree. Masterfully composed.
Besides the pure scent, I also had a blend made with this base. And it is breathtaking! And not only are the scents themselves unique, but also the sillage and longevity. You can smell "yourself" until the next time you shower. Forever. And in my eyes, it has to be that way! At least I wish for that from a perfume, but I have never found it. Outstanding quality. THANK YOU TO THE HARRY LEHMANN COMPANY!
Just a small addendum after now spending a bit more time with this scent. Maybe my sense of smell has become somewhat strange by now, but the more often I wear this beautiful scent, the more I think I perceive a slight hint of something Guerlinade-like....Am I crazy? Actually not. But for some reason, I have one or another time thought of a whiff of Mitsouko when I smell Russian Leather.....After all, both are definitely Chypres, which at least would fit from that perspective. Moreover, the more I engage with this perfume, the less I perceive anything leathery. I can hardly understand how some people can detect such a pronounced leather accord here, let alone speak of a resemblance to Knize Ten. In any case, the scent is uniquely beautiful. It would be interesting to hear a few opinions from those who know it.
I'm curious. Best regards.

In such a fast-paced time like ours, I really appreciate "traditional houses" like Harry Lehmann, even though I've never been there. Thank you for your lovely comment; I should order the fragrance soon before it changes.

I actually agree with you on your Mitsouko association, in a way: I've been wearing Mitsouko quite often again lately and suddenly felt the urge to compare RJ with M. There are similarities, albeit very vague, but they exist. It's like a story being told with different words. RJ is more down-to-earth, denser, darker, and somehow more muted. M is unmatched in its transparency, radiant, almost fragile.

And yet: When I wear Mitsouko, I think of Russian leather, and when I wear Russian leather - like today - I think of Mitsouko.

I agree with your last sentences regarding the leather; I can't perceive any leather either.

I definitely need to check out his shop in Charlottenburg next time I'm in Berlin. Great scents for a good price without all the bling, awesome! And this fragrance is simply lovely! What a beautiful love letter! :-)

I'm also impressed by Wüstenwind by Harry Lehmann; I haven't had the chance to try others yet. The prices are noteworthy too, making you wonder why others can't achieve that. I don't see your comment as advertising.

Jeez, oh my goodness, my response was neither meant to be mean nor understood as a "punishment." Wishing you lots of fun on parfumom and with Harry Lehmann.

About my blend: Russian leather, patchouli, Habanera, jasmine, and heliotrope. But I won't reveal the proportions; otherwise, it might not be unique anymore... :-)

Thank you for the nice comments. It's great to see that others feel the same way I do. It feels good. And traditional companies like Harry Lehmann, who practice this "craft" with such passion, just excite me.

@Grenouille: I think you're right to be enthusiastic. It's truly a remarkable company: well-established, quality-conscious, and always focused on the customer. Where do you still find that these days?!

I don't think it sounds like advertising; it's great that you can be so enthusiastic about a fragrance! I also enjoy classic, old-school scents!

One more thing: I'm new here and I'm already being reprimanded for my first comment. ...this is a great start. It really dampens my enthusiasm for this platform, which is supposed to be about sharing personal experiences...sad!

That's why I will definitely share if I find something exceptionally great! And I'll gladly do so enthusiastically. In the end, it's my personal opinion, and I will always express it!!! I HAVE NO PERSONAL OR

I'm sorry if you see this as advertising. But I won't hold back my enthusiasm when I'm truly convinced about something. I've just experienced way too much overpriced nonsense in this market so far.

Enthusiasm is great in itself, but this sounds like an advertisement.
