Suicide Blonde Hate Me Love Me 2021

Kaboom.
Suicide Blonde starts off very intensely. It's a lot all at once: sweet, citrusy, fruity, boozy, creamy. In your face.

A lot of fragrance for just one spray from a small sample. It has substance. It has power. I usually find that rather off-putting. I generally don't like sillage monsters. I don't need to be smelled 20 meters away in the wind.

But of course, there’s a but. Because Suicide Blonde settles down after the intense start, revealing its true character: Aperol. Call me crazy, but I smell Aperol 1:1 - and I love it! It's that intense, boozy, slightly orangey, and bitter-spicy yet still sweet scent when you smell the aperitif bottle. Yet it still feels "perfumey".

Over time, with the heart note, it becomes softer and more pleasant, enveloping. Vanilla and tonka bean make it wonderfully soft and creamy under the Aperol. And the fragrance develops a serious, underlying sweetness. Gourmand fits, but never sticky or too drinkable. I’m getting 6-8 hours plus in this dreamy heart note.

And then the base note comes in. The vanilla rounds it off and lingers with a slight boozy spiciness. And that lasts forever.

Overall, we’re talking about days rather than hours in terms of longevity here. Completely insane.
Sillage becomes medium after the initial blast, not overwhelming but definitely noticeable.
For me, it's a clearly feminine scent and, despite its gourmand nature, very wearable. Highly recommended!
